Watchmaker’s Club Event 20/11/19
On Wednesday 20th November Remontoire 68 attended the fantastic Watchmaker’s Club Event at The Refinery at 110, Southwark Street in London exhibiting timepieces made by Arnold & Son, Parmigiani Fleurier, Schwarz Etienne and Tutima Glashütte.
Attended by a large number of watch enthusiasts the event was a sell-out and throughout the day a constant stream of collectors spent the evening perusing our brands with a few clients specifically attending to view Arnold & Son. It is fair to say that on the evening all brands were given a lot of attention which is very encouraging given the current economic and political climate.
Parmigiani Fleurier, probably one of the best Maison of horology brought several special pieces to the event which included the Parmigiani Tonda Chronor with its hand-finished gold movement, double column wheel, integrated chronograph, the Perpetual Calendar with a retrograde date, the Rose Gold Annual Calendar also with a retrograde date complication as well as one of ninety nine pieces Limited Edition Kalpagraphe DLC.
Arnold & Son had a collection of several stars that attracted more attention than others which included the Globetrotter, Eight-Day power Reserve, Perpetual Moon, UTTE and the DBG Skeletal. People were intrigued with the story behind the brand, its origins and the founder’s contributions to horology probably being the most important in British watchmaking history.
Schwarz Etienne, a privately owned watch brand and movement manufacture, likes to create some unique individual pieces and showed off its Ode to the Seventies Limited Edition along with its lady’s Fiji watch collection and its stunning Petit Second Retrograde Tourbillon which is a particular favourite of ours.
Tutima Glashütte, this wonderful brand from Germany with exceptional quality was admired by many who were surprised at the quality, price and engineering behind its watches in particular the Patria with its Breguet overcoil and variable inertia balance technology at a price of a third of what you would expect with this level of complication and detail. The highlighted pieces which received numerous enquiries on the night were the Saxon One M, 7 Seas and the Sky collection along with both the steel and rose gold Patria.
We would like to thanks all of those who attended the event and came to see our brands – thank you for your interest and support and a special thanks to David Brailsford of Garrick watches who runs the Watchmaker’s Club and all of those who assisted in making the evening a great success.
We will keep you posted on the next Watchmaker’s Club Event in the new year and look forward to seeing you all there.
