The research and development team at MAURON MUSY plays a vital role in the production of their watches. Rather than sourcing from traditional watchmaking channels, Christophe Musy and Eric Mauron, the two engineers and founders of the brand chose, from the start, to claim the "100% Swiss Crafted" label. Most cabinet components are designed and manufactured in-house from design to assembly, including computer-aided design (CAD) and machining. This includes developing new machines, particularly with regard to their innovative nO-Ring ® technology.
MAURON MUSY watches result from extensive experiments and tests, often unprecedented in watchmaking. Independent and determined, the two founders sometimes sought solutions in other fields of activity, such as general mechanics and inventing new processes or components.
The satellite compression spring, which is part of nO-Ring ® technology, required around thirty prototypes before adopting its final architecture. Likewise, the aesthetic and technical endings of the different elements have been the subject of numerous tests. Finally, the waterproof tests, more extensive than for a classic watch, required the invention and development of special devices unknown to traditional manufacturers.
Rather than subcontracting, the two founders equipped the factory with all the equipment necessary for in-house production. By producing everything in-house, from the watch cases to their 36 elements essential for nO-Ring ® technology, they ensure that every component meets their rigorous standards. This unique approach to watchmaking is a testament to the brand's dedication to quality and innovation.
