A Noble Past, A Bold Future: The Perrelet Turbine for Women

The first known example of a woman’s wristwatch dates back to 1810, a piece created for the Queen of Naples, Caroline Murat, by Abraham Louis Breguet. The original designs were often crafted as bracelets with hidden timekeepers and considered more as a piece of jewellery than a practical timekeeping instrument. However, as the modern woman emerged, horologists found a way to beautifully retain the elegance and class of women’s watches, whilst also making them a practical tool for timekeeping.

What is the modern woman seeking in her watch? Perrelet offers an answer with their Turbine, ladies model collection. A beautiful blend of detailed craftsmanship and sophistication. One of the most striking features of this line is the dazzling diamonds set into the second dial beneath the turbine, that reveals them each time the watch is worn. Paying homage to the early examples of women’s wristwatches, it is truly a piece that subtly demands attention from an unassuming eye.

Yet, the turbine is far from just a piece of jewellery to decorate the wrist. With an in- house automatic movement, the turbine is an impressive sight. Demonstrating a seamless blend of Perrelet’s long traditional of innovational horology and modern technological advancements.

The turbine is adaptable in its style, much in line with Perrelet's long history of consistency and adaptability in the horologist industry. Despite its grandeur, this is a piece that can suit the everyday use. With a comfortable and flexible rubber strap, the watch has a certain casualness added to it, carrying it from beautiful statement on the wrist at an event, to a practical and sturdy tool for those less extravagant daily tasks.
